I received a message not to long ago from a fairly disgruntled fellow blogger.  In short, they wanted to know why the bigger names out there don’t ‘share’ the market.

While I’m not one to speak for any others, the question did get me wondering.  If you are a new blogger, should you expect help?  When you were new did anyone help you?

There are a lot of bloggers out there, and while in a perfect world one could suppose that all the smaller websites would be helped by the larger sites, it really doesn’t happen (much).  Save for some very select times, even then it is usually more  of only a link and at times small quote.

While true, linking to other websites is a good way to get attention but it’s not the only way.  More than likely you won’t get help (if you should or not, is another question altogether), overall it’s one of the reasons I write about what I do here, to help get people started.

As for what kind of help the emailer was looking for, they didn’t say.  Obviously they meant more than a few how-to articles as you find at Paradox9, but if they were looking for a guest post, hand holding, or just some links I have no way of knowing. 

What kind of help should the bigger blogs give the smaller? Or should they just not help at all?

First off, there is a rather fabulous brand new look for Paradox9.com there’s a lot more than just good looks going on though.  There are some big changes coming up that work under the hood as well.

First off, we are working on a lot of new goodies for the shop.  Some of it’s already up (including the super business cards templates).  The cards are all print it yourself to make sure you save money- but we do have printing available as well.

There is also a brand new (and quite spiffy) newsletter.  No worries, there is no sharing or selling of your information and your privacy is as important to paradox9 as it is to you.

By signing up you will be privy to things only available to subscribers (including sneak previews of new goodies here, sales, and a ton else).

There’s a lot more that will be rolling on out soon- so keep checking in!

Or, you panic or anything here (because I’m sure that so many people continually hit refresh at paradox9.com *sigh* sarcastic blogger moment).  The website has taken a bit of a newer look, it’s a lot cleaner and much easier to navigate (the almost invisible links in the sidebar are now replaced with really easy to read ones, among other things).

I also have a brand new section- paradox9 now has (and I’m working on more) premium template.  You can see them here: Premium Templates.  While it’s fairly slim picken’s now- I’m hoping to get a bit more done within the next few weeks.  Of course the fab free ones will remain (and more than likely be added to also) I’d like to have a better collection of higher-end ones.

I’ve been coding like mad, so I do suppose it’s spilling over to here too (although WordPress isn’t my normal code plaything, that may change as well). 

Before I go off on some unimaginably long and tedious tangent, I’ll just close with asking: Is there anything else you’d like to see here?  Post it on up in the comments!

First things first, the classified ads section is tentatively back.  Right now it’s more so in a ‘testing’ mode of sorts, but if the interest is still there, they will stay.  So, if you have an advertisement for your website, shop, or art/ art services feel free to list it.  Right now, there is only the free option, but at some point I’ll also be introducing a paid option (more photos, stays longer, etc). 

I’m also bringing back some templates.  Well, not bringing back the same ones, just the template section.  I’m aiming for completely easy to use and customize, and if you have an idea (or even a template) please contact me through the contact me page.

Presently I’m just working on the zazzle store builder templates, they are basically all set up.  All you have to do is plug in your zazzle shop name (on the index and shop files) and upload to a website host.  I’ll be making more complex ones soon, and to get an idea of what they look like, just check out the image files above all of them.

They come with no real warranty per se (considering they are also free, there’s that too) but if you run into any problems, just let me know and I’ll see what I can do. 

They come with two pages, (an index and shop page), the graphics and the psd files. Not a bad deal overall for free.  Also, I would love you forever if you left the link to this website and my associate’s ID in the files.  As that is supporting both this website, and my other efforts at helping your website succeed (see, that would be some good old fashion guilt).

Some battles are fought with guns, others are fought with technology. The battles involve blood, sweat and tears.

This battle is different, actually it’s geeky and involves blood, sweat, and an admin with the mouth of a sailor (whodathunk it?).

Over the next (I have no idea) you will be finding things coming back slowly.  While a bit of data was lost, the things that were save-able (mostly posts) will be re posted.

While things are still being checked, re-checked, and all that I’ll be trying to get things up and running as quickly as possible.

But, it’s not all bad news.  As there are some legitimately awesome things I’ll be announcing soon.
